Inauguration with a bang for the new school year of the OLMO Institute: the project promoted by Davide Oldani was chosen among the best practices at the Ceremony chaired by President Mattarella
On Monday 20 September, in the courtyard of the Technical Institute for Transport and Logistics, Nautical and Aeronautical of Pizzo Calabro (VV), the beginning of the new school year was celebrated in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, of the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi, the highest state authorities, sports personalities and delegations of students and teachers representing all the Italian regions.
Also present at the ceremony, live on Rai 1 Davide Oldani, Chef of D’O, two Michelin Stars and Michelin Green Star for sustainability, And Luca Azzolini, Headmaster of the Paolo Frisi Hospitality Institute in Milan.
The Olmo training center, a detachment of the Frisi State Higher Institute, was in fact chosen among the best practices to be presented at the ceremony: the project, in collaboration with Davide Oldani, the students of the Istituto Superiore “Paolo Frisi” in Milan and the Municipality of Cornaredo, was designed to ensure specific training in the hotel sector through the promotion of Made in Italy.
The merits of the recognition obtained are an updated training offer on food and wine and experiences such as school-work alternation, business simulation and the educational restaurant. Fundamental is the study and knowledge of the seasonality of raw materials and the evaluation of the freshness of the product.
The role of mentor assumed by Oldani promotes the permanent training of laboratory teachers and the action of motivation to study and commitment to students, involving experts in the sector through the “Masters and Champions at Olmo” project.
